Abstract

The rich information encoded in Wikipedia serves as a significant external knowledge resource for modern natural language processing and text mining applications. However, with the currently available tools it is hard to get raw Wikipedia data. To this purpose, we introduce WikiMadeEasy, an API to facilitate the mining of data from Wikipedia. Its client-server architecture provides high flexibility to programmers and researchers serving as a strong toolkit on top of which novel natural language processing applications can be developed.
